Test page - Internet Explorer AutoFill
TraySafe password manager can help you to fill the form of the web page in.
For example, you need to automate login to this account:
How to autofill this form? Easy!
- Fill the form with some email, the login and password only once
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + F11 (it is the default key sequence).
TraySafe will analyze the current page and create an appropriate account for it in your passwords file.
THAT IS ALL!
You do not need to fill this form more - TraySafe will do it automatically! Try to do that: press the Reset button to clear the form, switch to any other window or task, come back and form will be filled in automatically by TraySafe.
(if you want to paste the login data and password into the current page manually - use CTRL + F11 button).
Comments:
The whole idea of the AutoFill feature is that there are many web pages, which you fill with the same data each time when you enter them.
TraySafe can automate this task to make your life easier.
Each time when you reach such web page with the form of any complexity, just press the hotkey (CTRL + SHIFT + F11 by default) and TraySafe will memorize all the data in the input fields in the newly created account.
Account will be created in the currently opened passwords file in the currently selected folder in the accounts' tree. It will be created with the name "New account (DD.MM.YYYY hh:mm:ss)", where DD, MM, YYYY, hh, mm, ss - current date and time.
We recommend you to change this name to the more convenient one.
This way of the autofilling is called as using insert history widely in the TraySafe program, its Help and on this site.
Note: it works for Internet Explorer. For other browsers and applications you need to use standard insertion method.
How to stop or prevent the autofilling
If you don't want to fill some page automatically more for some reason, you have three methods how to stop autofill feature:
- Uncheck menu item "Use insert history" in the context menu of the appropriate account.
- Uncheck option "Insert the password automatically using history" in the dialog box "Option -> Automation" (this affects all accounts!)
- Press CTRL while you are switching to the browser window with the page that you don't want to autofill and keep it pressed for about a second.
Be careful with this method - if you switch to any other Windows task for a moment and forgot to press CTRL switching back to this page, TraySafe autofills it overriding all your writings!
Troubleshooting
The default password file Default.pwd already contains the account, specially created for the test page. Initially it is inactive but you can activate it by checking account's context menu item "Use insert history".
You can do that if the recipe discussed above will not work in your system. At least you'll verify that TraySafe works in your system at all.
This account contains next values for the input fields:
- Email: test@yahoo.com
- Login: test login
- Password: test password
If this account will not work too, we recommend you discuss this at our forum forum.arovax.com in the TraySafe section.
Now, if you understand how TraySafe process the web forms in Internet Explorer, you can try second test at the next page.
