- Which Windows versions are supported by TraySafe?
TraySafe supports Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP as well as Windows Server 2003, 2000, NT 4.0 and 2000 Advanced Server.
- First start - recommendations.
At the first start of TraySafe it is recommended to create the
initial password file.
After that we recommend to change options due to given an example
and use it in safety.
- Unregistered limitations.
TraySafe is a shareware product and has limitation in trial version:
- Trial period: 21 days.
- Nag screen at startup.
- "UNREGISTERED VERSION" string in program title.
- Unlocking application with additional registration reminder dialogue.
To remove limitations you need to register TraySafe.
- Password reminder.
For each password file you can set a password string. You can open file only with
this password. If you enter the wrong password, file will be opened and decrypted
with wrong password, so you will have no accounts.
To remind password you can set a password reminder string.
This string can be displayed without password to remind you the password.
- Hardware hash - what is that?
TraySafe provides the unique feature - the use of the hardware characteristics in the password string.
If you use this feature, password file can be opened only on your computer.
Hardware hash includes the username of current user, so different users of one computer
will have different hardware hashes and thus different passwords.
Also hardware hash can be used instead of a password - you can set
"Use hardware hash" to decrypt password file on application start with the hardware hash only
- you will not be prompted every time to enter a password for your password file.

- Account templates. Can I customize them?
Yes! You can create the customized account - select type and the number of a fields to be at the description panel - full customization allows to get more usability for our users.

- Insertion technology. How can TraySafe help me not to enter passwords each time?
TraySafe works in tray originally. You can get the main form using popup menu - right mouse button. Using left mouse button you can call popup menu with all visible accounts. After selection one of them TraySafe reads to insert information into given fields. To place or edit information in text area click this text edit with left mouse button. To skip it hold ctrl - left mouse click will be skipped - text will not be inserted.
- Can I protect password file if I go away from computer for a couple of minutes?
Yes, you can! TraySafe has function of locking application. After that you cannot use it until you enter the right password/hash combination or you can close it and open again with loading password file.
You can do it manually or set automatic tracking user activity and locking for user inactivity for given period of time. Inspect general options page.
- Can I forget about typing any password and be protected?
Yes, sure! TraySafe provides a number of user friendly solutions and you can use them according to the security level you want to get. - Is TraySafe a solution for network password sharing?
Yes! TraySafe provides the possibility of communication through office network and sharing passwords between users. It is possible due to TraySafe password server and TraySafe password client.
